On Saturday the team went to the MRI (Minnesota Robotics Invitational) competition. We had several students try out being a part of the drive team. At the end of the qualification rounds, we were ranked 20th but had the 5th highest OPR (Offensive Power Rating) according to the Blue Alliance. Many new students also got to experience and try out being a driver of the robot during the competition to get a taste of what it will be like at regionals.

MRI finals (55)

Opposing Alliances shake hands before the final match.

A previous alliance member at EMCC, the FireBears (Team 2846), was the 1st seed at the end of qualification and chose us as an alliance member. They also chose the CyBears (Team 4859), our other alliance partner from EMCC, recreating the winning alliance from the same event. We ended up getting second place with them!

MRI finals (116)

Triple hang during one of our final matches!

At this Monday's meeting, we worked on reassembling Sir Ants-a-bot, our 2016 competition robot, We are going to use it as a test robot for expanding our skills in how to use pneumatics. We also have some new people checking out the team to see if they would like to join us.
