This week the team prepared for Jumpstart. Jumpstart is one of the largest training opportunities in the nation for FRC teams. There will be multiple classes each hour, and an Automation Fair with several area vendors in parts and supplies most teams use in building their robot. It draws teams throughout the state. Approximately 800 students and mentors are expected to attend. This is about the 5th year for Jumpstart.
The event is hosted by St. Cloud State University and the Central Minnesota Robotics Hub, of which the Gearheads are a member. It will be happening Friday evening, and most of the day Saturday, on the St. Cloud State Campus. Coach Corey will be teaching 3 of the classes. He also helped organize the Automation Fair. One of our mentors, David Dale, will be teaching another class (with a little help from Lori). The Gearheads will also be showing off our pit, and some of our robots. Many of the classes will be Live-Streamed. This link should take you to the classes taught by Corey if that is something that you would like to see (it won't be live until Saturday) https://www.twitch.tv/granitecitygearheads
There will also be an FTC competition at the event. It will be in the Atwood building at SCSU. FTC stands for FIRST Tech Challenge, and is another program in the larger FIRST organization.
