On Saturday, teams throughout Minnesota, and reportedly a team from Canada, and a team from Australia, attended the first of 3 Virtual Jumpstart events this year. Jumpstart is a training event started by Becker Robotics team 4607. As the Central Minnesota Robotics Hub grew it took on the administration of the event. It includes sessions from a variety of teams throughout Minnesota. This year, due to Covid, all the sessions will be virtual.

This year the Virtual sessions are hosted by Medtronic. Keynote speakers for the event on Oct. 31 were Medtronic VP Mike Hess and FIRST Founder Dean Kamen.

After the keynote speeches, there were 2 sessions with classes on a variety of topics. Gearheads lead build mentor Corey Applegate and our student team member Natalie Fischer (who is also a member of the Albany Huskies team 4226) hosted a class on Robot Builder, a coding platform to program FRC robots.

The videos from all of the sessions should be available soon. There will also be sessions with new topics on Nov. 14th and Dec. 5th. Jumpstart is open to any FRC team member who wishes to register. If you have any questions email the team at
