Last Friday and Saturday, the team, along with over 800 other FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) teams from Minnesota met at St. Cloud State University for Jumpstart.  Friday night was hands-on training in the tasks that go into building the robot.  Saturday had more and larger classes on robot build and other aspects of running a team such as Safety, Communications within a team, awards, social media, and many others, Gearheads mentor David Dale taught one of the classes on Social Media.

The Gearheads Coach Corey Applegate taught 3 sessions; Robot Builder, Java, and Motion Profiling. He was also one of the organizers of the vendor fair.

Our tool carts were a big hit in the pit showcase.  We received many requests for the plans, and Corey is working on recreating the CAD files (they were lost in the process of a Windows update) When that is done he will share them.

Last night the team made some modifications to the Testbot, and Gabe started learning how to use CAD. We also got the robot zipping down the hall.  Austin and Ethan worked on their precision driving skills.  (And a big thank you goes out to Mr. Al Johnson, principal at Apollo for sharing your pizza with the team!)
