The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is well into its 2021 season, with alternative games and challenges necessitated by Covid. The Gearheads are meeting in-person twice a week with the option of virtual meetings with Build and Programming Coach Corey Applegate.

During our in-person meetings, we have taken apart the intake and ball delivery mechanism from last year’s robot. Our goal is to refine the intake and add a turret. We think that will help improve our accuracy in the Virtual Infinite Recharge @ Home competition, which involves shooting from different distances and navigating an obstacle course. We also want to have a competition-ready robot, in case there are off-season competitions this coming summer and fall.

We also are hoping to have an entry in the game challenge competition, so we are brainstorming ideas for our submission. We think that we are off to a good start.
